August @ The Art Barn

On an unseasonably COLD August day (just before school started), we headed to The Art Barn for an adventure. Both Wade & Bree LOVE The Art Barn, so I'm glad we were able to fit in this summer.

Lots of TLC for the animals...

TRACTOR RIDE!

All the kids in attendance were younger, so when they needed help from a big strong boy to park the tractor Wade stepped right up.

he was very proud of his tractor duties

Showing off their artistic creations. Dede would be proud. Actually, the first thing Wade said when he finished was "I'm giving mine to Dede".

What a fun day to end our SUMMER VACATION!

Wade's First Triathlon

Wade looks up to his Daddy and wants to be just like him. So that means wanting to do TRIATHLONS! We found a tri for kids that beginners could enter at age 5. It was a great race to start with. Parents could be right along side the kids the whole time. It was very laid back and relaxed for beginners. And Wade could not have been more excited to join in the fun competition. It also helped that he had good friends doing it too!

Checking out the pool...

And talking up the competition....

Daddy's support means the world to Wade!

Oh, and Bree and I (and Nonna!) helped cheer him on too!

The 5 and Under age group lining up for their 25m/1 lap swim. Please notice the kid in the ring floatie to the right. You see what I mean about this being a very laid back competition. Not mocking the kid, just illustrating a point.

Wade takes his mark, gets set, and....
 GOOOOO!

He never looked back! Running to the bike transition...

Can't mount until you get to those cones...

He did the bike in no time at all!

Happy as can be...

Off on the run....

Coming in the home stretch...

and FINISHED!!! He earned a race medal and wore it with pride.

We were so proud of Wade, his courage, and positive attitude. He truly enjoyed the experience. We quickly left to celebrate with lunch. It was only later that we found out he won FIRST PLACE in his Age Group (remember the yellow floatie kid?). We missed an Awards Ceremony, but luckily had friends there to pick-up his 1st Place medal. He doesn't actual know we missed a ceremony, so please don't tell him. He was just proud to do so well :)

I have a feeling we will be adding more of these to the family calendar next summer...GO WADE!

Cousin Fun in Atlanta

After Lake Oconee, Rowan and Ellis were able to come back to Atlanta with us for a short visit. We packed in as much fun as possible!

Tubing on the lake....

Swimming at the pool....

More pool time with the Reuter cousins!

I love that Wade & Bree's cousins on both sides can all be together!
