Oh Wade! Where do I begin to tell you all about YOU at 6 years old??? You are old enough to be a "real" member of the family, yet young enough to still be oblivious and innocent to the ways of the world.
You are growing and changing and becoming smarter by the day. The things you come up with and concepts you put together amaze me.
You are independent and self-assured. You want to see what and how much you can do by yourself. It gives you more pride to know you accomplished it all on your own. If we push you one way, you will most certainly go in the opposite direction to prove us wrong.
You are a LEGO MANIAC! You can play for hours building kits or just coming up with your own creation. If you're ever stranded on a deserted island, I know exactly what you will need to keep you occupied.
You are a boy's boy. You love your dog, any sport with a ball, rolling in the grass, wrestling anything that will wrestle back, and in your mind the Whoopie Cushion is just about the greatest invention of all time.
It's getting harder and harder to get you to just stand still for pictures. I have to negotiate a silly picture at the end to ensure you will smile.
You are a rule follower. You are the black and white kid in a grey world. Sometimes it means you follow directions exactly as you are asked. Sometimes it means you're not as flexible as life needs you to be. When it comes to Santa, you believe you write ONE thing on your list and that's the ONE thing Santa will bring. I've always liked this plan, so I've never encouraged you to put down more on your list. Works great for me (wink, wink!). This year, out of the blue, you asked for a telescope. And Santa DID deliver!
Baseball is your sport (so far!). You love the competition, practicing, the praise for a job well done, and most of all - being a part of a team. You light up when you get to mess around with your friends. The shared experience of a team is what it's all about!
You are ending 3 wonderful years at Casa Montessori. It hurts my heart to see you moving on and preparing to leave the comfort of the nest they've nurtured you in. What a place! What a joy to see you learning in the way that is perfect for you! What a life experience!
Dressing up as an English gent, playing the role of Michelangelo in the Italy play
You started Chess Club with your friends, Om & Shivum, in January and LOVE it! Poppa first got you interested over Christmas, and now you are a champ. It is great way to use your brain and learn a new skill.
Your handsome face and endearing heart make you irresistible to love!
Following in your Grandpa Greg's footsteps, you are an animal lover! You are interested in the natural world around you and never stop wondering. Dolphins, fish, turtles, dogs, reptiles - they are all your friends.
Even though you look super cool in the hat and glasses, they serve an not-so-cool purpose. Spring allergies kick your butt. We're combatting the allergies with meds and trying to keep them out of your eyes. You are tough and brave, but it's hard when you can't breath in the springtime.
My sweet, funny, inquisitive, map loving, ball throwing WADE!!! I cherish every day with you. You challenge me and enrich our family. I thank God I get to love you and be your Mom.
