Wade's First Week

WOW! What a week it's been...
After a little extended stay, Wade came home from the hospital Tuesday afternoon. My mom (Nonna), Beau and I were able to pack his bags, try out the carseat for the first time and make the trek home. I've never seen Beau drive so carefully. The roads are now officially safer.
We made some very important introductions as soon as we got home. Cali and Orwell were able to meet their new little brother. Orwell is already insecure and Cali is just wondering when she's going to be able to get her beauty sleep.
Here's an album of that adventure:

After we got home, Wade's jaundice did continue and we ended up having to do his "tanning" bed treatment at home. Nurses came to the house to check his levels, which was so nice to be able to keep him with us. He's now off the beds and looking more pink like he should. And amazingly his bruises from delivery are gone! Babies heal much faster than mommies - that's all I have to say. All the chaos has made his eating and sleeping crazy, so we're just now getting the hang of things. My mom (the lactation consultant) has been here every step of the way and I can honestly say we'd still be stuck with formula if it wasn't for her. Thanks NONNA!

But for the record, I did try to put a hat on him once and he hated it. So I've decided he has plenty of hair to keep warm and doesn't ever need a hat again. And my excuse for the Easter bunny pictures is that since he missed Easter in the hospital I had to at least put the outfit on and take a picture. Things just got out of hand with the ears and basket. So sue me. Cali was secretly thankful that it wasn't her this year having to wear bunny ears. Otherwise, all is well and we're trying to get as much sleep as possible and enjoy this little nugget of a person!!! He changes everyday and I just want to freeze him long enough to enjoy each moment. He still looks a lot like Beau but we're seeing a little bit of my side in his face. He's an angel and we're truly in love.
Thanks to everyone for your well wishes, meals, laundry help (Diane!), grocery runs, phone calls, visits, dog entertainment, and LOVE
Kriya, Beau, Wade, Cali & Orwell

WADE IS HERE!!
Our baby boy arrived last Friday, March 21. He was 2 weeks early but was ready to meet the world!

Labor and delivery were just a pleasure (ha ha), but we all made it through the battle (that's what I'm calling it). Wade did have some facial bruises from the process that look pretty bad in his first pictures, but has already pretty much healed! He did get a little jaundice from the bruising and stayed at Northside in his "tanning bed" while his little body processed all the changes. He came home on Tuesday, March 25!
He looks just like Beau and even has matching hair. They gave him his first bath and had to get more shampoo. They were able to comp part and spike it! I can't bare to put a hat on him b/c his hair is so stinkin cute. Needless to say I'm biased :)

Thank you all for your support, calls, visits, prayers, and love! We truly are blessed and so is baby Wade.

I'm a blogger!

Well, the time has come to start a blog. Wade's only 9 days old and I feel like there's already so much to share with friends and family near and far. And all he does is eat, sleep, and poop. I can only imagine how I'll feel when he actually "does" things.
Since we've been home, we've had amazing support from everyone and it's hard to answer all the emails and phone calls. I know - it's must be rough being loved. So I figured it would be easiest to set-up the blog so that I can update everyone at once AND not have to flood your emails with obnoxious proud mom messages and photo albums. I know I'm overboard with pictures (always have, always will). So visit as often as you'd like and ENJOY! I can't promise poetry and humor in my writing, but I will keep you updated on the latest happenings.
Love to you,
Kriya
