Seam & Jennifer's Wedding Weekend

Beau and I headed down to Tallahassee, Florida for Jennifer and Seam's wedding. We left Wade home with Poppa and Dede so we could keep up the pace with the action packed, fun filled weekend. Good choice! Even with 3 nights away (and more sleep than I'm used to), it was nonstop fun and we came back exhausted! We were honored to be a part of the wedding (Beau as a groomsman and I sang for the ceremony) and all the festivities throughout the weekend. It was double fun for us because there were some high school friends there plus most of Beau's fraternity brothers from Emory.

Jennifer and Seam were blessed (and I mean BLESSED) with gorgeous spring weather for their predominantly outdoor wedding. I mean, you could not have ordered better weather :) Every azalea was in bloom and it just made you want to site outside and enjoy it. Every aspect....from flowers to food to their tear jerking vows to her gown....was perfect!

Easter Dinner at the Heinz's

My family's Easter celebration was at Karen & Alan's this year. They put on the kids' egg hunt (in the scorching April heat!) and everyone got into it. There were eggs with candy, money, and toys inside. A little something for everyone!

This is Aunt Alison holding Emery. Which brings up a funny point. Obviously Ashley and Alison are twins and it's not hard to get them confused. But I find it funny that their own children can get confused!Look at that pouty face!!! Wade was running on little nap and lots of chocolate by this point

Easter Morning

After church on Easter, we had a great time enjoying the sunshine AND a wonderful brunch with Beau's parents

Wade loves his "Poppa-Dede" so much. He doesn't really say their names separately, it's just easier to lump it together and get both their attention and love at one time :) If I want to motivate Wade to get him out of the house, all I have to say is "we're going to see Poppa-Dede". It may be a fib, but I can usually distract him with something else by the time it matters :)

Wade discovered the joy of golf carts on Easter. I have a feeling we're going to have a hard time going to eat at the club WITHOUT taking a cart ride from now on...

Stroll around the lake

After the Easter Egg Hunt we took a stroll around the lake at church. Since the weather has been nice, we've done this a lot after I pick up Wade from school. There are ducks, geese and turtles to feed so he has a blast chasing them all around.

This trip around the lake was no different, except that he had daddy with him too.
And this BEAUTIFUL tree was blooming....

It was snowing flower petals and we spent the longest time playing in petals, swinging on the branches, and climbing the tree

I need to remember this tree next year around this time for spring pictures. It was gorgeous and made me appreciate that SPRING is officially here :)

Easter Egg Hunt

Now that Wade's actually old enough to enjoy holiday festivities, we made sure he participated in a REAL Easter Egg Hunt. I was pleasantly surprised that our church does one, but also that they break down the ages so that Wade doesn't have to battle for eggs with 5 year olds. They had a 2 and under section which was perfect for the smaller kids.

Luke: "Those shoes are cool, but how are you going to run around and get eggs with those on?"Wade: "Tell me about it. I agree with my daddy that running shoes would've been a much better choice"

Wade: "Go ahead Luke, I'll hang back here where it's safe"

This photo is actually a good snapshot of the experience. Here we are right before the hunt, Stuart and Caleb Everett scouting out exactly which eggs looked the best, and Beau coaching Wade on strategy while making sure he's fully hydrated. It was just too funny to see these dads get into it!

And they're off!

This was cute. Wade and the little girl in yellow were going after the same egg. But instead of elbowing her out of the way (which I fully would've expected)....

Wade backed off and let her have it. We were proud of his polite courtesy in the midst of madness

Through it all, Wade had his coach (daddy) to help him. They celebrated with a big High 5!

Luke & Molly, Kriya & Wade (Molly and I were college roommates and our boys are only 7 weeks apart!). We don't get to see them that often, so it was a treat to do the hunt together.
